2nd Annual Colton Quast Hawks Alumni Golf Classic
Saturday, June 20th, 2026 - Connaught Golf Club,
Medicine Hat, Alberta
The Colton Quast Hawks Alumni Golf Classic is a fundraiser
that has been designed to assist the Medicine Hat High School
Football Organization in continuing to provide
many important and often life-changing opportunities for young athletes.
This event is about more than just raising money for a high school football team. It is about raising awareness and the importance of programs such as this which can shape the futures of our younger athletes by teaching them how to work with others, bounce back from setbacks, follow rules, and balance commitments. It's about fostering character, leadership, problem-solving, and healthy competition that translates to success in school, work, and life. It's about giving opportunities to families who may not have the financial means to have their child participate in team sports. It's about equal opportunity for athletes and families. It's about shaping the minds and the futures of our younger generation.
The Tournament Evolution
2023/2024 -
This golf tournament fundraiser began as a Booster Club event.
2025 - A few big changes were incorporated which would allow
sustainability moving forward. The Hawks Organization partnered with the family of Colton Quast, in memory of one of
their very own fallen alumni who passed in 2020, which created an important
transition from a successful school event to an even larger community driven event.
2026 - This year will see even further changes as the the Quast Family joins together with the Meier Family
to honor another fallen Hawks alumni, Piercen Meier. The
Quast and Meier families are relatives (Colton's grandfather
being a cousin to Piercen's great-grandfather) so it is a
very organic transition to bring our families together in
recognition of both these amazing young men
as this tournament moves forward. This year, we will honor
Piercen at the tournament dinner (hosted by Hranco) and you will
see the all new "Piercen Meier Bag Drop Area".
Moving Forward - Next year in 2027, expect to
see some even further changes with a tournament name change to reflect and
honor both of our boys equally while we honor their legacies as
past Hawks football alumni, and their lives as amazing young men
who both left this world far too early.
